The Planning and Communication Services is a new support directorate of RURA that was created by the Regulatory Board decision and started its operations since January 2010. It has a mandate which includes but is not limited to:
• Providing a wide range of IT services that shall assist all other RURA’s Directorates and Units with information, communications and technology, direction, support, project delivery, technical training and advice. • Providing and maintaining an upgraded RURA information management system which effectively supports the organizational initiatives and enhances the delivery of services to all RURA’s Units and Directorates. • Ensuring that RURA is equipped with up-to-date Information Technology Network Infrastructure (Wide Area Network, Phone Systems, Servers, Printing Devices (Fax, Photocopiers, multi-function), Mobile Technology (Cell Phone, PDA, Blackberry), Firewall, Virus Checking, E-mail), etc which provides an effective and sound support, thereby enabling other units/directorate to perform their duties smoothly. • Providing timely and accurately the required information to educate, orient and market the image of RURA to the public by publishing RURA's activities, achievements and interventions and strategies using the necessary dissemination mechanisms and media ( brailed, embossed, handheld, printed, projected, screen viewed, TV, and radio, etc) and ensure that the regional and international RURA’s stakeholders are brought on board. • Providing timely and accurate information to RURA for planning and managerial decision-making and administering key RURA surveys and coordinate compliance reporting activities. |
